Kellie Sharp

Howdy, I’m Kellie. I was born and raised in Austin, Texas (a fact that makes me a unicorn, I’m told by many relocated non-natives). I work in software sales for a tech company by day, but my passion is plant life…and two stepping. I am the proud owner of 50+ plants. I don’t have favorites, but plumerias and caladiums hold a special place in my heart. 

There are many people that have sprouted my love for plants. My mom has always loved her house plants and made sure they were cared for as the seasons changed. My dad maintains the outdoor beauties that surround my childhood home. Paul Green aka The King of Caladiums (awarded best garden in Austin for many years) and Shannon Donaldson, Succulent Native Founder are up there as well. I’m so inspired by Shannon, who got her start many years ago by biking around downtown Austin with a little cart attached selling her gorgeous succulents in the cutest, obscure little pots. Paul just really fostered my Caladium love. Last but not least, my good friend and former neighbor, Chris. He and I would and still do sit for hours on his front porch playing dominoes and talking about life, but the topic always meanders to plants. We look at how the plumerias are sprouting, we stop dominoes to take on plant projects, and discuss what to do if any plant wasn’t living its best life. 

Whenever Chris would go out of town, I was his go to for plant care. I treated his plant babies like they were my own. It was then that I knew that he wasn’t the only one who had plant needs. I think plants can play a big part in our physical and emotional life. I want to help you keep them thriving while you’re gone, help you maintain your loves or give them a boost if they’re not doin’ so hot. Consider me your new go-to plant gal!
